Cd-r (Cd-wo)

In the late 1980s, the CD developments followed in quick succession. In 1988, the world met the CD-R. That disk was writable only once. Unlike the CD-ROM, you were now able to write audio as well as data files in your own living room. Afterwards, an even smaller version came out, the mini CD-R with a diameter of 0,31 inch (80 mm).

… That CDs generally only have a life expectancy of 10 years? The degradation of pigment causes the CD-R to fail. When silver is used, this may begin to oxidise.*
